Hi, my name is Amanda!

The beauty of life’s adventure captured in a photo

I focus on capturing real moments that are shaped by the natural world around us. My approach is simple but intentional. I let authentic glimpses of life’s best moments unfold naturally. Whether it’s a quiet connection, a burst of laughter, or a peaceful scene, each image I capture tells a personal and raw story.

A little about me
01.
I’m Amanda!
I was born and raised in North Carolina but went to college at Piedmont University in Northeast Georgia (go lions!). Going to college out of state was scary but it is where I decided to hone in on my photography passion so I am forever grateful for my time spent there. I'm based in Northern Durham County but! I lovee traveling!

Relationship with nature
When I moved to a new state where I knew no one, I quickly developed a love for adventuring in the mountains. While I've always appreciated the mountains, it was during this time in my life that being immersed in nature helped me navigate my emotions. To this day, being in nature continues to teach me more about myself and push my creative boundaries.

My PhotographyJourney
I started my photography journey in 7th grade with an Instagram called amrartsy, a bit of foreshadowing for the future. Before getting my LLC, I rebranded to Amanda Marcia Studios, choosing my middle name, Marcia (Mar-sha), as a tribute to my late grandmother, who passed away before I got a chance to meet her. My last name, Retschle (Rich-ly), felt too tricky to use, so this felt like the perfect fit! Now, I am a fully licensed and insured photographer!

Interesting Facts About Me
Along with being a photographer, I’m also a coach and manager in training at a gymnastics facility in Raleigh, North Carolina! Working with children is one of my biggest passions! I am also canoe, kayak and archery certified. I spent summer of 2024 working as a kayak and canoe instructor at an outdoor camp, which also required me to become a lifeguard. I returned as a canoe and archery instructor the next spring! It’s been a very random side quest, but I’ve learned a lot about myself through it.
